When was the first car made?
The first car was named as Guido da vigevano and it was made in the year 1335. Several italians also recorded designs for wind driven vehicles .It was windmill type drive to gears and thus to wheels.
After this Leornardo da Vinci designed a clockwork driven tricylce with tiller steering and there was a differential mechanism between the rear wheels.
If we talk about the first modern automobile, then Karl Benz invented the first modern automobile in the year 1886. But long before he invented the same, there were strange forerunners to the today's cars, including toys for emperors, steam powered artillery carriers, and clanking, creaking British buses.
But in the late 1970s a limited batch of Mark III Ambassadors were produced with 1,700cc engines. They were fitted with Constant Velocity SU side draft carburettors of an earlier era instead of the more common indigenous Variable Velocity Solex down draft units. The engine blocks of these cars had "1700" etched on them instead of the usual "1500". These were probably produced to handle the extra load of the piston driven air conditioner compressors available in those days. The trim (metal beading) of these cars were a throwback to the sixties because they were chromeplated instead of aluminium.
Since Humans have possessed knowledge of the wheel for several thousand years and we've been using animals as a source of transportation for nearly that long. So, in some sense, the earliest forerunners of the car date back to the earliest mists of our prehistory. But perhaps a more useful way of thinking of the car is anything that could reasonably be called an "automobile" - in other words, if any vehicle which is capable of propelling itself then In that case, we're at most talking about 439 years of car history.
But in the 20th century , almost 8 out of 10 rich people uses the car name "ambassador".
In the early 1990s, the old Austin-designed B-Series OHV straight-4 BMC 1.5L petrol engine was replaced in favour of an 1.8 litre engine and became the fastest production car in India, beating Fiats, and the Maruti Suzuki cars at that time.
Now the engines currently available are the 1.8 L 75 bhp MPFI petrol engine and a 2.0 L 50 bhp Isuzu diesel engine.
There are some more precious cars which were used by the rich people in earlier times. The images of the cars are shown here:
History of 19th Century CARS
In the year 1806, the first car was powered by an internal combustion engine which runs on fuel gas appeared, which result to the introduction in 1885 of the ubiquitous modern gasoline or petrol fueled internal combustion engine. Cars which is powered by electric power briefly appeared at the turn of the 20th century. But it was largely disappeared from use until the turn of the21st century. The early history of the automobile can be divided into a number of eras, based on the prevalent means of propulsion. Later periods were defined by trends in exterior styling, and size and utility preferences.
Some of the precious car images which was owned by the rich people are shown below:
History of 20th century CARS
At the end
of the Ist world war, the front engined car began to dominate over othr
car designs. These cars have closed bodies and standardised control
which was becoming the norm. By the year 1929, almost all cars which was
sold were closed bodies. In this century , the development of the
internal combustion engine was at rapid pace with multi valve and
overhead camshaft engines.
